Here Come The Huskies!
The Haldimand Huskies Basketball Club is a non profit youth sports club. The Huskies are an Ontario Basketball Association affiliated club. Our club follows the Sport Canada and Basketball Canada guidelines for long term athlete development.
Our focus is on creating opportunities for young athletes of all skill levels to learn to play basketball and develop skills, fitness, and teamwork/leadership skill necessary for league play.
The club is run out of Caledonia, Ontario, and operates as a ncommunity, volunteer based, not for profit, club.
Our programs run from late September to mid March. We offer programs for boys and girls Gr’s 2-12.
Small Town Club. Big League Experience.
Huskies Basketball promotes fun, fitness, and athlete development consistent with the Canadian institute for Sport Long term athlete development and Basketball Canada guidelines.
Also fundamental to all of the Huskies programs are the principles of player skill development and progression, and demonstrated respect for all aspects of the game (coaches, officials, team mates and parents).
Haldimand Huskies Basketball is a member of the Ontario Basketball Association and Basketball Canada.
In 2007, Haldimand Huskies Basketball Club won the Ontario Basketball Association’s “Club of the Year” Award.
The Haldimand Huskies are well represented in local basketball and beyond. Our Huskies can be found on almost every local elementary and high school teams, and we have present and Huskies alumni players from our programs who have gone on to play with AAU teams, Team Ontario, and in NCAA competition.
We have a very friendly, passionate, motivated and dedicated group who want to create opportunities in our community to train and develop young athletes who want to play basketball.
Though the Haldimand Huskies are a small club, small town doesn’t mean bush league.
Through the hard work of the players and the dedication and skill of our coaches and league volunteers, we are proud to say that other teams take notice of the Huskies scrappy, won’t quit play, as well as the sportsmanship and respect our players demonstrate.
The commitment of our players, coaches, and parents make is what makes our club so much fun.
We care about each of our players, and will do whatever we can to help them achieve their goals and succeed - on and off the court.
